Here are 5 reasons you arent getting what you want

Here are 5 reasons you arent getting what you wantHere are 5 reasons you arent getting what you wantI really hate not getting what I want. And Im the queen of letting desire get in the way of intuitive knowing.close dialogAdvertisementclose dialog/* effects for .bx-campaign-1012257 *//* custom css .bx-campaign-1012257 */.bx-custom.bx-campaign-1012257.bx-type-agilityzone .bx-close z-index 2-ms-keyframes bx-anim-1012257-spin from -ms-transform rotate(0deg) to -ms-transform rotate(360deg) -moz-keyframes bx-anim-1012257-spin from -moz-transform rotate(0deg) to -moz-transform rotate(360deg) -webkit-keyframes bx-anim-1012257-spin from -webkit-transform rotate(0deg) to -webkit-transform rotate(360deg) keyframes bx-anim-1012257-spin from transform rotate(0deg) to transform rotate(360deg) bx-clos e-inside-1012257 top 0 right 0 /* rendered styles .bx-campaign-1012257 */.bxc.bx-campaign-1012257.bx-active-step-1 .bx-creative *first-child padding 0width auto.bxc.bx-campaign-1012257.bx-active-step-1 .bx-creative background-color transparent.bxc.bx-campaign-1012257.bx-active-step-1 .bx-close stroke whitebackground-color blackborder-style solidborder-color whiteborder-width 1pxbox-shadow 0px 0px 0px 3px black.bxc.bx-campaign-1012257 .bx-group-1012257-3RBnJGC position absolutetop 50%left 50%transform translate(-50%, -50%)z-index -1.bxc.bx-campaign-1012257 .bx-element-1012257-wryzWV5 width 55px.bxc.bx-campaign-1012257 .bx-element-1012257-wryzWV5 *first-child animation-name bx-anim-1012257-spinanimation-duration 800msanimation-iteration-count infiniteanimation-timing-function linear.bxc.bx-campaign-1012257 .bx-group-1012257-lyDBLV9 width 900pxheight 550px.bxc.bx-campaign-1012257 .bx-group-1012257-me4p1bl padding 10px.bxc.bx-campaign-1012257 .bx-element-1012257-ZdLO37u width au to.bxc.bx-campaign-1012257 .bx-element-1012257-ZdLO37u *first-child padding 2px 4pxfont-size 10pxcolor rgb(255, 255, 255)text-transform uppercasebackground-color rgb(0, 0, 0)background-color rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.34)The amount of times Ive known something welches bad for me, but my brain decided I wanted it (for any number of reasons) is countless. Ive chased after big dreams that werent aligned but were desired. Ive been laser focused on making strides that werent rooted in what really mattered. Ive chased after men that sucked (and some that were great but sucked for me). Ive gone after huge opportunities that I knew would look and sound good, but were completely off when it came down why Im here.Untangling the tentacles of desire is a complicated and difficult thing. The process will require you to learn the hard way. It will cause some blow ups in your life. It will break your heart. It will shake your confidence. It will make you wonder if you can even be trusted with what it is tha t you want. It will push you to edge, and when you get there, youll realize why you didnt get what you wanted. No matter how badly you wanted it. No matter how hard you worked for it. No matter how much energy you gave it.Youre not getting what you want, because youre getting something better.Youre not getting what you want, because you ignored the whispers.Youre not getting what you want, because the right thing is coming.Youre not getting what you want, because it was the only path to learn the lessons you needed to learn. What youll find when you dont get what you want is that when you stop your initial fighting, sulking, and wallowing in your own bullshit puddle of why not me, you have an opportunity to shed the stories you layered onto the situation you were gunning for why it was right, why it was meant to be, why it was for you, why it would all work out perfectly, why your future depended on it to landsee all the red flags that you sprayed neon pink. Youll get to see the in formation that was there all along. Youll get to remember the whispers you heard and ignored. And when you see all of that, you remember that you CAN trust yourself. Because that soft and intuitive and wise you is always there. Shes always accessible. And you get to choose whether you listen to her or not.Sometimes we let desire get in the way of that wisdom, which is OK. And eventually well learn to let that centered and knowing voice lead, instead of shoving it back behind the megaphone of desire. This article was originally published on MaxieMcCoy.
